Mosaic can be related to any person within MAST by their postcode. It can refer to a casualty or driver.
MAST supports two versions of Mosaic: the current version of Mosaic was created in 2009 and Mosaic 2003 was the original used in MAST.
Dimensions and Indexed Reports
MAST links STATS19 drivers and casualties to Mosaic by using postcodes. This makes it possible to expose the socio-demographic profiles of the communities where they live in the Driver Mosaic and Casualty Mosaic dimensions.
MAST also provides indexed reports, which compare the Mosaic profiles to the underlying population.
Mosaic provides the detailed anaysis which underlies MAST's Similar authorities feature.
Both the up-to-date version of Mosaic and the previous Mosaic 2003 are available as dimensions.
Converting existing reports between different versions of Mosaic
All reports which were created using Mosaic 2009 have automatically been updated by MAST in order to reflect the most up-to-date socio-demographic profiles of drivers and casualties. This means that Mosaic reports are using the most recent version by default.
If there is a need for a report to use to Mosaic 2009 instead of the updated version of Mosaic then follow these simple steps to convert from one to the other:
- Remove Casualty Mosaic or Driver Mosaic
- Add Casualty Mosaic Previous or Driver Mosaic Previous
- Uncheck z and Unknown
- Save Report
