The Download Excel link on the Edit Report page downloads a Microsoft Excel (XLS) file to the user's browser. The exact method will depend on which browser is used.
The contents of the XLS file will be exactly the same as the contents of Grid view, except that subtotals and totals will not be included and no formatting will be applied.
The only case where a downloaded Excel file will differ from Grid view is in indexed reports. Index values cannot be viewed in grid view, but do appear in downloaded Excel files.
The contents of Grid view can be downloaded into a spreadsheet file at any tmie by clicking the Download Excel link on the Edit Report page.
